About The Writer

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marisa Menotti was raised by her parents in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin along with her younger brother.

She attended Pius XI High School, where she was a successful competitive athlete in both soccer and basketball. Attending college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Marisa graduated with a degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice and briefly worked in law enforcement after graduation. Having had experience in the food service industry, she then embarked on a journey of over 25 years working as a top manager in large, high-revenue food service operations in the Milwaukee area.

Marisa has always been interested in entertainment and music, specifically movies/TV and Rock ‘n Roll, which began as young as middle school. A collector of movies, posters, ticket stubs, and a general lover of movie history, Marisa has enjoyed decades of studying the art of film and television, and became interested in script writing afterward.

In 2010, Marisa and a long-time co-worker and friend decided that they should put their thoughts down on paper and write an online written web series of stories from the workplace—incredible, ridiculous, funny, and outrageous stories—mixed in with real-life drama that they both witness and lived while working together for 8 years together in food service. Thus, Mixed Bag The Series, was created, roughly 3 seasons worth of “chapter” stories and afterward a website was created. Illustrations soon followed.

Then, in late 2022, Marisa was contacted by a producer who suggested making Mixed Bag The Series into an animated television show. Marisa has been working hard ever since to bring the animated show to life. Marisa enjoys script writing and is working on bringing Mixed Bag The Series to a wide audience, along with other stories based on true events, and multiple original scripts she is writing as well.

In addition to being a script writer, Marisa owns and operates a small property management company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and also loves to spend time with her family and her red miniature poodle. Marisa is an avid gardener, coaches soccer and basketball, is a US History aficionado and enjoys traveling when able.
